December has arrived and with it so have the festivities! Tonight marks the celebration of D.C.’s newest and largest ice rink at the Washington Harbor. Winter on the Water will include strolling entertainers, ice skating performances, choral singers, a St. Lucia procession, and creative lighting effects, along with food and beverages. The event starts at 4 p.m. and will go on until 7 p.m.

In addition, tonight is the Georgetown Holiday open house. The event begins at 4 p.m. at Tudor Place and will feature tours of four historic mansions decorated for the holidays. The cost for this event is $20 at the door.

A third way to spend your first night of December is with the Washington Bach Consort who will be performing their program: Great Glad Tidings. The show starts at 5 p.m. at the National Presbyterian Church and features contatas composed for Advent and the Christmas season. Tickets are available online through the orchestra’s website.
