This year marks the 11th annual Christmas Open House at the Daughters of the American Revolution Memorial Continental Hall. This year the open house features cookies and a taste of history. Visitors can tour all 31 period rooms depicting scenes of early American life and walk through the DAR museum gallery. There will be smaller exhibitions on historic Revolutionary war documents as well as famous DAR members. The Hall will be decorated for the holidays and there will be Christmas music and caroling from area choirs. There will also be a chance for visitors to win door prizes. In addition, this year holds a special treat as Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule in order to attend the open house. Coloring books and crayons will be given out to all the children. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the National Christmas tree across the street. The event lasts from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday. This event is free to the public and no reservations are required. For more information, please call: 202-572-0563.
