Are You Ready for the New Year?

2012 is just around the corner, and the weather is looking fantastic! So, how will YOU be spending your New Year’s Eve?

It’s been a very mild winter. The snow has been missing in action, the icy wintry winds have been fairly merciful, and I haven’t had to pull out that huge cocoon coat, that extra bulky parka, and that hat yet. You know, that hat. The one that makes you look like you stepped right off the set of Dr. Zhivago. But hey, I’m not complaining!

With Christmas just a day behind us now, people are already looking forward to New Year’s Eve. I personally haven’t made any concrete plans yet, but my goal is to settle for something that won’t cost me an arm and a leg. I might throw those 5-inch heels on and head to a lounge in D.C., in the hopes that everyone won’t be packed like sardines all night (fingers crossed).  I could stay home, snuggle up and watch a movie as Carrie Bradshaw did in Sex & the City. Or I could go downtown, try out a new restaurant or bar with a few friends. Yeah, I think I’m more in the mood for something low-key like that this year. Good company, tasty entrées and apple martinis… yummmmm!

So how do you plan on spending the final hours of 2011? Regardless of how I choose to spend New Year’s Eve, I’m very excited for 2012 to begin. May it bring happiness and prosperity to all. Cheers!
