I Like… I LOVE!
I think it’s safe to say that most of us have those few things in our closet that have probably never seen the light of day! So read my latest blog on shopping tips to make lives a little easier.
Growing up alongside two very opinionated sisters I have learned one thing from our various shopping experiences: if you like it, don’t buy it. If you love it, it’s yours and you will probably wear it a lot more than that navy blue silk blouse with those odd triangles. True story. Fail.
Being a woman myself, I do realize that us ‘charming individuals’ can be very indecisive when it comes to shopping. I can’t explain to you how many times I have seen a lady holding up a dress/top or pant and giving it that long stare. Some of us will spend hours in a store, only to come out with nothing! That’s why we sometimes can’t do it on our own! Who do you think invented the term ‘shopping date?’ Not men. How many times have any of us run into a man sitting awkwardly in a fitting room checking his phone and waiting for his lady partner to hurry it up? I myself have been guilty of the same scenario.
That’s why most stores have a return policy and then again, why some don’t. So ladies, let’s save us a second trip to the mall after one impulsive night! Buy the things you instantly look at and think ‘I WANT.’ Simple right? Ok not really.
If you do fall into the once in a while ‘I want something different’ phase, just remember: if you are a tad bit unsure about it, it will most likely sit in your closet.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with taking risks. But let’s not go from wearing all black every day to all hot pink! Pick an in between. Shopping is like exercising. Start slowly and you will reach your goal. Therefore, if you want to create a different spin in your look, start with bolder accessories pairing them with solids, then slowly switch to those leather spandex that you saw in a magazine somewhere. Basically, ease yourself into it.
Consequently, if all that fails and you have found yourself gone way over budget and a bit unsure about your selections then here is plan B: if you haven’t worn it within one week of purchasing it, you probably won’t touch it more than once to send it back before the 14/30 day return policy ends!
