Ah, beauty queens! With so many pageants on the scene these days and beauty queens competing all over the world, we thought it was time to bring you a little pageant beauty insight for your crowning moment. Get your notepads ready for these weekly pageant beauty tips.

Finding your perfect pageant pout may not be as difficult as you think. I have done makeup for pageants for over 12 years now. I am proud to say I have had the continued opportunity to do makeup for Allyn Rose, Miss Maryland USA 2011 who was in the top 10 during the Miss USA pageant this year. She is probably one of the most humble, beautiful and professional woman I have ever met.

When I have worked with her for events when she plans to wear her crown I choose as pretty pink/flesh tone lip for her. I would say it is probably one of her signature lip color looks.

Choosing a pageant lip color can make or break your entire face. It can cause your skin tone to look brighter, clearer, fresh, and glamorous. Picking a bad could make your skin look morbid. A Miss Universe makeup artist suggested looking at your jewelry box to determine your best shade. I agree and thought this was genius. If you feel good in silver, your best bet would be cool-based undertones. Picking colors with silvery-blue undertones. If you love gold, then look at warmer undertones with a yellow-golden hue.

Be sure to determine our style as well. Are you more on the softer side or purely dramatic?
