Super Bowl Watch Parties in DC Sports Bars
Traditionally held on the first Sunday in February, Super Bowl Sunday is a time-honored event all over the United States. Expats overseas and American football enthusiasts all over the world also join this community regardless of who’s playing and who is favored to win. This year, the San Francisco 49ers play the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.
Social Side Note
Kansas City is winning with the most popular hashtag, their team hashtag #ChiefsKingdom, with nearly 46k mentions. The 49ers specific hashtags are spread out amongst a wider variety of hashtags with their team hashtag #BeLegendary getting only 4.6k mentions in the time since they won the NFC Championship. More popular hashtags for the San Francisco team are #49ers and #GoNiners. Consider using any of the hashtags to join the brouhaha.
There are promotions in bars and restaurants all over the metropolitan area for a Super Bowl watch party. Funny thing about the Super Bowl… it’s not just for the love of the sport but also for the halftime show and halftime ads that become breakroom subjects for days after the show. This year, we’ll be seeing Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. I’m sure Miami has something to do with it.
Below, we’ve listed a few places around town to watch the game, halftime show, and halftime ads on Super Bowl Sunday. And in case the home setting is more your thing, we’ve also covered game day watch party ideas and Super Bowl recipes here.
