Holiday weekends are typically filled with events and entertainment, which makes it so hard to choose what to do and where to go. It’s no exception in Washington, DC during Labor Day weekend. Transitioning from summer to fall season really puts on the social pressure to squeeze every second of that last bit of summer bliss into beautiful memories. In years past, we’ve been able to evade that issue with hot Indian summers. This year, it appears, Mother Nature has decided to put a recall on that action for our area. With that being said, be on the lookout for thunderstorms in order to save those sandals for next summer!

Outdoor Movies – Dusk Screenings
In case you’ve been out of town every weekend this summer, chances are good that there’s been many an outdoor movie missed from your social calendar. Well, you’re in luck! It’s the last weekend for both Rosslyn and National Harbor, but other locations have schedule screenings for September. We’ve listed the information below.

Ever felt you you’ve had enough of Reality TV? Me either. It’s been all the rage since the 16th century! Entertain yourself with a bit of humor at the Shakespeare Theater as this free event comes to a close on Sunday.

Opening Weekend Events
Find yourself a lover of all things drama, and they will suggest a visit to the local renaissance fair. Why? Because “all the faire’s a stage,” meaning everyone is always onstage-acting in full costume for the entire time. “Playtrons,” as visitors are called, come to enjoy the lightheartedness of leaving reality for a day. Kids can climb a castle wall, eat a turkey wing, and watch a live joust. Some of the best leather goods, crystals, and silver jewelry can be found along the merry path. And just your luck, this weekend is the opening weekend for the ever-popular Maryland Renaissance Festival. Be sure to wear a good pair of walking shoes when you go, and let loose on that inner thespian while you’re at it!
