  • 2 Cups Rice White Medium Grain
  • 1 tbsp Salt Sea Salt
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Diced
  • 1/2 Whole Onion Diced
  • 2 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 4 Cups Water

  1. Start by melting the butter in a saucepan on medium-high heat. Add diced onion and diced garlic. Let butter, onion, and garlic simmer for a couple minutes. Next, add the raw rice (yes, raw!) to the butter, onions, and garlic in the hot saucepan and allow to toast for a minute or two. Stir with a wooden spoon (this is best) to keep rice moving. Add just enough lukewarm water to cover the rice with 1/2 inch of water. Add the salt. Stir. Turn heat all the way up to achieve a boil that lasts one minute. Immediately cover saucepan and turn heat down to the lowest simmer possible. Let simmer for 20 minutes. Stir before serving.
