Shopping The Retail Treasures Of DC

We’re all busy people and we all have a long list of things to do and get done every day. The purpose of this web series is to make your life easier, and this is how….

I have this idea to explore all the hidden retail treasures of DC. No more fighting the crowds at the mall, or waiting for one of five fitting rooms to maybe, possibly, eventually, become available. I promise shopping doesn’t have to be some dreaded task; some huge production requiring you to block out the majority of your sacred Saturday. We’re all busy people and we all have a long list of things to do and get done every day. The purpose of this web series is to make your life easier, and this is how…

Each week, I will find a new retail store to discover. I promise this isn’t just another review about the location, customer service, and price point (although all of which are very helpful). This is your own personal shopping guide. Efficient, stress-free shopping is more than just avoiding hoards of people and endless lines, it is understanding what you have and exactly what you need in order to fill gaps and create a wardrobe anyone would covet. Whether it’s classic staples for work, everyday basics, or bargain hunting for an outrageous night out, no store will be left unturned, and no wardrobe essential unaddressed.

Before we go shopping, this experience starts at home. Look at what you currently have and wear, and what is just wasting space and collecting dust. Donate what you don’t wear; alter what doesn’t fit; organize what you still love. This is ground zero. This is you starting over and finally focusing your attention on your image, and how you present yourself to the world. DC isn’t exactly the fashion mecca of the East Coast, but I sense a revolution coming.

I want these articles to take the cake when it comes to feedback. Let me know if you’ve heard of a store you want me to visit, or if you have any fashion concerns, questions, or remarks. I will focus on what I think every woman needs to own; those classic pieces in your closet that take you from day to night, from 2013 to 2023. These are the pieces that provide versatility and endless outfit options. You don’t need a closet the size of your entire first floor and enough clothes to fill it, just a few smart pieces.

I hope to bring you easy, painless, fun shopping that you can feel good about! Help a local business and avoid buyer’s remorse by having a plan, and a list, and sticking to it.
