The fashion team at Alliance Française of Washington DC (AFDC) held its biennial fashion show fundraiser to celebrate its 70th anniversary this year on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Founded in 1883, The AFDC is the largest and oldest network of French language and cultural centers in the world. Funds raised from the show will go toward helping the AFDC strengthen its Francophone cultural programs.

The Beyond The Little Black Dress fashion show was hosted at the Maison Française within the French Embassy.  Beyond the Little Black Dress brings the perfect pairing of designers and artists from both sides of the Atlantic to showcase their style and talent.

This year’s show wouldn’t have been possible without  Ms. Indira Gumarova, wife of H. E. Hynek Kmoníček, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the U.S., and founder of Diplomacy and Fashion.  Her talent and expertise in the fashion world and kind willingness to help AFDC produce a superb anniversary fashion show.
