The Washington Humane Society Staff Pet Pick of the Week PENELOPE!
The Washington Humane Society Staff Pick of the Week/ Pet of the Week is the loveable PENELOPE!
Penelope is a very friendly, human-social dog with lots of playful energy. Looking for a running partner? Look no further! She can’t wait to tour the country with you one wood’s trail at a time. Do you have kids? She loves kids! She’ll spend the whole day playing with them and then curl up next to their bed, protecting them from bad dreams. Plus, she’s pretty adorable. The words “cute as a button” have been thrown around on several occasions!
Penelope deserves a great forever home because she has been working very hard with behavior staff and dedicated volunteers on basic obedience training and good doggy manners and she’s doing great! She knows sit, down, touch, crawl and is getting a start on working with agility equipment. She’s very polite and loves her training sessions. She’s also a Hidden Gem, so what’s not to love!?!?
She would do best in an active home as the only animal in the home. She does great with children of all ages. Penelope came to the Washington Humane Society in June of this year. She was found as a stray on F Street, NE. She is just over two years old and weighs 46 lbs.
Penelope is available for adoption at the Washington Humane Society New York Avenue adoption center: 1201 New York Ave., NE, 202-576-6664.
